RUSSIA has launched a revenge blitz on Ukraine following its long-range missile attack – firing an intercontinental ballistic rocket for the first time.
It comes after Kyiv launched long-range US ATACMS missiles against Putin’s territory overnight on Monday – and British Storm Shadow rockets on Wednesday.
Russia warned it would “react accordingly” as embassies in capital city Kyiv closed down on Wednesday for fear of a revenge blitz.
Putin’s forces this morning launched one of their powerful ballistic rockets from the southern Astrakhan region.
Kyiv’s air force announced the revenge blitz, marking the first time Russia has used such a powerful, long-range rocket since invading Ukraine in February 2022.
Moscow warned for months that the use of Western long-range missiles by Ukraine would mark a major escalation and even a wider war with Nato.
