Thomas Frank believes Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa will be available for Brentford’s Premier League clash against Everton on Saturday.
Mbeumo was substituted in the final stages of Brentford’s 3-2 victory over Bournemouth on November 9 and was not included in Cameroon’s squad for the international break.
Wissa, meanwhile, was also flagged as an injury doubt during the international hiatus after he withdrew from DR Congo’s squad last week.
However, Frank expects his two leading forwards to be in contention for this weekend’s trip to Goodison Park.
When asked about the injuries to Mbeumo, Wissa and Ethan Pinnock, Frank said on Thursday: ‘All of them I expect them to be available and ready for Saturday.
‘In all three situations different, not injuries, minor issues, it was a little bit similar to the last international break where we had [Mikkel] Damsgaard and [Christian] Norgaard were called up for Denmark but didn’t they travel but then managed to be ready for the next game.
‘Sometimes a week rest makes all the difference so I expect them to be ready, so we were thankful for the cooperation from their three national teams.’
Frank insists he also has ‘no complaints’ over Mbeumo’s mindset after he was linked with moves to Liverpool and Newcastle United in the January transfer window.
‘I’m not thinking about it, it’s definitely too far away,’ Frank said of Mbeumo.
‘I’m very happy when players are performing they are linked with other clubs because it means they are doing well, and that’s good for us.
‘I also know the players are very happy for being here in Brentford, especially Bryan.
‘Right now I’m just focusing on trying to do our best to beat Everton on Saturday.
‘I know Bryan very well, it’s his sixth season, he’s a professional player, he’s very good at focusing on training, you see him every day coming in with a big smile and you can hear him, his energy, his laughing. He’s training well, I’ve no complaints.’
