Former Senator Shehu Sani has criticized the global practice of naming the richest man at any particular time.
Shehu Sani argued that there is no such thing as the richest man on Earth, noting that no single person can feed a nation.
He added that only someone capable of feeding the entire world and providing for all their needs should be called the richest man.
He wrote on his verified Facebook page: “There is no such title as the world’s richest man or Africa’s richest man. A rich man is just a rich man for himself and his family.
“You can’t call a man who doesn’t feed you, who doesn’t pay your rent, or who doesn’t pay the fees for your children the world’s richest man. There is no man rich enough to feed everyone on earth as to be qualified as the world’s richest.”
