NGX: John Holt, Sunu Assurance among losers as equity capitalization crashes to N58.9tr

Investors in the Nigerian equities market lost N68 billion at the close of trading on Tuesday.

This followed a dip in the share prices of stocks like VFD GROUP, ROYALEX, and OANDO amongst others on the trading floor today.

After five hours of trading at the capital market, the equity capitalization crashed to N58.9 trillion from N59 trillion recorded by the bourse on Tuesday.

The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) also dropped to 97,260.39 from 97,373.94 recorded the previous day.

The market breadth was positive as 20 stocks advanced and 28 stocks declined, while 71 stocks remained unchanged in 10,224 deals.

EUNISELL, JOHN HOLT and SUNU ASSURANCE led other gainers with 9.98%, 9.83% and 9.71% growth each in share prices to close at N9.92, N5.81, and N2.26 from the previous N9.02, N5.29 and N2.06 per share.

VFD GROUP, ROYALEX, and OANDO led other price decliners with 10%, 9.68%, and 9.42% decline each in share prices to close at N40.50, N0.56, and N62.05 from the previous N45.00, N0.62 and N68.50 per share.

On the volume index, UCAP led trading with 76 million shares in 1, 202 deals followed by ACCESS CORP which traded 25 million shares in 498 deals.

UBA traded 22 million shares in 502 deals.

On the value index, ARADEL traded stocks worth N1.5 billion in 887 deals followed by UCAP which traded equities worth N1.1 billion in 1, 202 deals.

OANDO traded shares valued at N1.1 billion in 955 deals.
