Gunmen kill five natives in Southern Kaduna

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Engr. Joseph Ciroma has condemned in strong terms the attack on the people of Pasakori community in Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State by unknown gunmen.

It was gathered that the gunmen killed about five people and injured many others.

In a statement he personally issued, Chiroma expressed shock over the loss of lives and injuries inflicted on the people of the community by gunmen.

He denounced what he called “heinous acts”, saying that such perpetrators have no place in a civilized society.

He believed that their sole intention was to undermine the progress made by the people of Jema’a LGA, Southern Kaduna, and Kaduna State in rebuilding trust, fostering understanding, and revitalizing conflict-affected communities.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and prayed for speedy recovery to those injured.

Ciroma called on the government to ensure that efforts were put in place to apprehend the perpetrators of the evil act in order to face the law of the land.

A source told DAILY POST that following the attack on the community, security personnel have taken over the area to ensure the return of peace.

In 2015, the same community was attacked by unknown gunmen leading to the loss of lives, many others injured and burning of houses, as well as foodstuffs.

The state spokesman of the Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan did not respond to calls to react to the incident.
