Imo: False claims, Nigerian govt intimidating judiciary – IPOB denies ESN, police fight

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has charged the Nigerian government and the Police to stop intimidating the judiciary.

IPOB made the remark while debunking claims that the Nigeria Police Force repelled attacks by the Eastern Security Network, ESN, in Owerri, Imo State.

Emma Powerful, the spokesman of IPOB described the claim of an attack between ESN and the police in Owerri, Imo State as unsubstantiated and fabricated.

In a statement he signed, Powerful insisted that there was no confrontation between ESN and the police.

According to Powerful: “The global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by the great and indomitable leader Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu wish to debunk the visible propaganda peddled by the Nigerian murderous police that they repelled ESN attack at Owerri near Imo State airport and murdered one ESN operative.

“The Noble family and movement wish to urge the public to disregard this unfounded, unsubstantiated and outrightly fabricated statement credited to the Nigeria Police.

“No confrontation involving ESN operatives ever took place and no ESN operative was killed.

“ESN operatives never staged any confrontation with Nigeria police because ESN is not in the business of confronting the police but rather is there to ensure that Biafraland is not overrun by Janjaweed Fulani herdsmen the same way they succeeded in overrunning parts of Yorubaland and the Middle Belt.

“Peddling the same lies repeatedly does not make it the truth. These lies against IPOB must stop. The group of persons and their political sponsors responsible for the spate of violence in the East are well known and they have repeatedly said they are not part of IPOB, so why tag IPOB to their crimes?

“The Commissioner of Police, one Aboki Danjuma his spokesman must understand that continuous propaganda against an innocent movement fighting for the freedom of their people will not help them achieve anything tangible, instead it would destroy their whatever credibility, if any, they have left.”
