The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has suspended two pastors over allegations bordering on homosexuality.
The church has ordered an investigation into the allegations.
This is contained in a letter dated 28h October, 2024, signed by the RCCG National Overseer, Pastor Sunday Akande, and addressed to the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration.
In the letter, the National Overseer pointed out serious allegations of homosexuality made against Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello and Deacon Oke Mayowa.
“By our mission’s commitment to upholding the teachings of the Bible, we must address these allegations with the utmost seriousness it deserves.
“As you are aware, the doctrine of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) does not allow or tolerate any act of homosexuality,” the letter reads.
The church also ordered Pastor AdeBello, Deacon Mayowa and other accused persons to be temporarily relieved from all of their responsibilities in all mission organs pending the outcome of the investigation, which is expected to be concluded within two weeks.
The letter said the probe is to be handled with care and integrity.
It also charged those saddled with the responsibility to ensure that the investigation is conducted confidentially and with respect for all parties involved.
