James Maddison has compared Tottenham youngster Mikey Moore to Brazilian superstar Neymar, but Ange Postecoglou does not think the teenager will get ahead of himself.
The 17-year-old appears to be one of the brightest young talents in English football, already making five appearances for Spurs so far this season.
The winger started and was very impressive in Tottenham’s 1-0 win over AZ in the Europa League on Thursday night, really catching the eye of Maddison.
The England international reckoned Moore had a look of Neymar about him on the left flank, backing him to continue his rise to the top.
‘I thought we had Neymar on the left wing! He is fearless, [he has] that young, fearless mentality,’ said Maddison.
‘He’s a brilliant lad, he has bags of ability. I will hopefully help him with wise words but he has all the ability and well done to him.’
Tottenham manager Postecoglou would not be going as far as comparing the youngster to a player who has scored 79 goals for Brazil, but he feels Moore has the attitude to handle the praise.

‘I think we all understand with young players, you have to be careful but after the game, I don’t get the sense that that’s going to affect Mikey at all,’ said the Australian.
‘There’s no denying he was great last night [against AZ]. I thought he was great the whole game. It’s exciting for us.’

Moore will be hoping to fill the void let by the South Korean if he does miss the London derby and the Spurs manager says he is ready to do so.
‘He’s ready to start any game, I just feel, especially with younger players, you’ve just got to be really careful about their introduction into senior football,’ said Postecoglou.
‘He’s still physically growing, you have to take that into account so I think he’s ready to play, start a Premier League game for sure but for me it’s about making sure, for us, that we develop Mikey in the right way.’
