A telehealth provider, Mobihealth International, has partnered with the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria and the Medical Association of Nigerians Across Great Britain to expand access to quality healthcare services in underserved communities across Africa through innovative telehealth solutions.
The partnership, according to Mobihealth, was set to transform healthcare delivery by harnessing the power of technology to bridge the healthcare gap in rural and urban communities.
The agreement between the groups sought to improve the quality and accessibility of medical care in areas with limited access to doctors and specialists through teleconsultations, training programs for healthcare workers, and health awareness campaigns.
In a statement sent to PUNCH Healthwise, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mobihealth International, Dr Funmi Adewara said the collaboration would ensure the delivery of world-class medical services to patients in dire need of them.
She stated, “We are excited to collaborate with MWAN and MANSAG, two highly respected organisations with a shared commitment to improving healthcare outcomes for Nigerians and Africans at large. By integrating Mobihealth’s cutting-edge telehealth platform with the expertise of MWAN and MANSAG members, we can deliver world-class medical services to patients who need them the most.”
The statement further noted that while MWAN members would provide teleconsultations, MANSAG members would contribute expertise from the diaspora and offer specialised medical support and mentoring for healthcare providers on the ground.
Commenting on the partnership, the National President of MWAN, Prof Rosemary Ogu, said, “We are proud to partner with Mobihealth and MANSAG to push the boundaries of healthcare delivery in Africa. This partnership aligns with MWAN’s mission to enhance the health and well-being of Nigerians, especially women and children, and we look forward to the positive impact it will have on the broader African community.”
Also, the President of MANSAG, Dr Chris Agbo, noted that the collaboration would offer support and empower local health workers, helping to improve healthcare delivery.
“MANSAG is committed to contributing to the improvement of healthcare systems in Nigeria and Africa. This partnership with Mobihealth and MWAN will enable us to leverage our expertise as healthcare professionals in the diaspora to support and empower local health workers in providing critical care. Together, we can make a significant impact on healthcare delivery,” Agbo said.
The statement also stated that the collaboration would support Mobihealth’s ongoing efforts to provide affordable, accessible healthcare services to vulnerable populations through its telehealth platform.
