The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), described former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as a serial election loser.
The former Rivers State governor was reacting to a statement credited to Atiku following the conclusion of the local council election in the state.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2023 election had in a statement mocked Wike after the Action Peoples Party (APP) backed by Governor Siminilaye Fubara won 22 out of the 23 chairmanship seats in the election.
He said the outcome of the poll was a reflection of the minister’s rejection in the state.

Wike, who spoke at a luncheon he organised in honour of the 10th Legislative Assembly of Rivers State, said Nigerians have rejected Atiku having lost successive presidential elections in 2019 and 2023.
He said: “We never contested local government elections. Did we contest? Did we pick form? I hear Atiku Abubakar say, ‘Oh they have rejected me in Rivers State. Okay, assuming though not conceding, he had lost so many times, Nigerians have also rejected him.
“If you say for an election we did not contest; never participated that shows Nigerians have rejected us, it is okay. You that contested and failed woefully, Nigerians have rejected you, therefore pack and go home.”
