A former Digital Communications Assistant to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has called for the elimination of notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji.
Posting an image of Turji on his X handle, Ahmad wrote: “Has to be, at all costs.”
Recently, Turji claimed to have seized two Mine Resistance vehicles belonging to the Nigerian Army.
But, the military claimed that the vehicles were demobilized due to bad terrain.
Recently, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, vowed to end Turji’s reign as bandit kingpin.
Musa made the cow when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State.
Lately, several bandit leaders have been killed by troops of the Nigerian Army, as well as rival gangs.
The list includes Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta.
Gitta sustained injuries during a recent encounter with his fellow bandits following a fierce confrontation with troops at Dankurmi village in Dansadau Local Government Area, but he escaped.
However, he was confirmed dead on Sunday, at Kawaye village in Bagega Ward, Anka Local Government Area, due to the injuries he sustained.
