Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has asked Nigerians to repent and intensify prayer for Nigeria to overcome all challenges.
Gov. Idris, who stated this in a message to mark Nigeria’s 64th anniversary, observed that prayer is key to addressing all kinds of challenges.
The governor said: “We must repent and seek divine intervention for God Almighty to give us the wisdom to fix all the security, economic and social challenges ravaging the nation. Remember, with Almighty God, everything is possible.
“Prayer is the key to the lingering challenges, therefore, we have no option than to seek forgiveness from our creator, surrender to Him, because all powers belong to Him.”
According to the governor, in spite of the nation’s diversity, the unity and the peaceful coexistence of Nigerians is paramount in the eyes of the leaders.
“We all agreed as Nigerians to live in a united, peaceful and prosperous country as one people, one nation in spite of our diversities.
“Government also has some responsibilities to ensure that the national interest is not undermined and the integrity of the national interest remains paramount.
“Despite the lingering security and economic challenges bedeviling the country, Nigeria still stand as a strong, united and indivisible entity. Together we shall take it to greater heights of development,” he said.
Gov. Idris assured the Kebbi people that citizens’ interest remains paramount and a top priority of his administration, hence the need for all and sundry to pray and support its policies and programmes for the good of the people and the state at large.
