Drivers are facing one-hour delays on the M40 this morning while every single flight at a top European airport has been cancelled.

A serious collision is causing delays along the M40 – which links London, Oxford, and Birmingham – with traffic officials describing the logjam as ‘serious’.

Junctions 12 and 14 are seeing the worst of the traffic pileups and southbound between junctions J15 and J12 is seeing delays of about half an hour.

Details of the collision are unclear but involved a lorry and a van, according to National Highways.

The trains aren’t faring any better. TfL is reporting disruption on a key commuter line for southeast Londoners.

In Brussels, meanwhile, all flights from Charleroi Airport have been cancelled as unions block both the tarmac and runway. About 30,000 passengers have been impacted with 200 flights no longer taking flight.
