Right activist, Israel Joe has urged the Delta government to work out modalities to reduce the crime rate in the state, warning that the rate of internet fraud, armed robbery, kidnapping and other crimes have increased in society, especially in Delta.
Israel Joe in a chat with our Correspondent in Warri said the increase in crime rate is ”nothing but the consequences of cumulative youth abandonment for years.”
“The government and society left young people unattended. Unemployment and frustration have increased in society.
He warned that the government must continuously innovate ideas to engage youths to reduce the crime rate in society.
He advised the Delta State Police Command to tighten its belt to secure the lives and properties of citizens of the state.
He added that Policemen in Delta State also need more orientation, stressing that some still deviate from their core responsibilities and engage in extortion of citizens.
