A woman and child have died after being found together at a house in Cornwall yesterday morning.
The pair were both given emergency medical treatment at the address in the hamlet of Fletchersbridge, near Bodmin, on Saturday morning.
However, both were later confirmed dead at the scene.
They have not been formally identified, but next of kin have been informed.
The deaths are being treated as unexplained by police, and no other people are being sought in connection with the incident.
Emergency services initially responded to a report of concern for welfare at 10.10am yesterday.
Detective Inspector Neil Blanchard of Devon and Cornwall Police said: “This is a tragic and incredibly sad incident.
‘The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained and we are investigating them to establish the full circumstances of what occurred.’
‘I would like to reassure the community that this is being treated as an isolated incident and at this time we are not seeking anyone else in connection to the deaths.’
