Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen were on target for the Super Eagles of Nigeria as they cruised past Benin Republic on Saturday evening.
The game played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo was the matchday one fixture of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying series.
Nigeria, led by caretaker coach Austin Eguavoen, secured a 3-0 victory to begin their road to next year’s Nations Cup on a bright note.
A brace from Lookman, and a goal from Osimhen were enough to earn Eguavoen a crucial win in his first match as interim Super Eagles coach.
