The North Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Forum has commended Abdullahi Sule, the Governor of Nasarawa State, for his role in restoring peace to the party in the region.
The forum particularly applauded Sule’s recent courtesy visit to the APC National Headquarters, Abuja, when he conferred with National Chairman Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on the interest of the North Central geopolitical zone.
Chairman of the Forum and former Senate President Ameh Ebute said this in a statement on Monday. He described the Nassarawa governor’s visit as a rightful intervention in discussing the interests of the APC elders in the zone.
“We are happy that Governor AA Sule is leading the North Central geo-political zone to reposition the party for maximum performance.
“The forum thanks President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Chairman of our party, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for resolving the political crisis that has bedevilled Benue APC.
“The dissolution and constitution of the Caretaker Committee in Benue has restored peace to both the party and governance in the state,” he said.
Ebute urged all APC governors of the region to emulate their Nasarawa state counterparts in visiting the national chairman of APC to further cement their relationship with the leadership at the centre.
While applauding the Ganduje-led National Working Committee for establishing the National Progressives Institute, the forum tasked Ganduje with including the North Central zone in the institute’s leadership, which the party is about to unveil in a few days.
“We are committed to supporting anything that will benefit the Northcentral people using the governing APC to attract development to our zone,” the former Senate President noted.
