Passengers travelling to and from Kings Cross may have to take alternative routes or face severe delays today.

A broken rail between the London station and Peterborough is causing major disruption along Great Northern, Thameslink and Grand Central routes.

Many trains scheduled to arrive at Kings Cross will instead terminate at Peterborough.

Services between Finsbury Park and Stevenage are either cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes, according to National Rail.

Trains between Brighton and Cambridge are also affected.

Urgent repairs are taking place, but disruption is expected to last until the end of the day.
