Market women in Edo State Friday jubilated as the All Progressives Congress (APC) takes its governorship campaign rally to markets in the state, promising to overhaul the despondent state of the state if voted in the forthcoming September 21 governorship election.
The governorship flag bearer of the party, Monday Okpebholo, his running mate, Dennis Idahosa, and former Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who were at the market, stressed the need to improve quality of life in the state.
Speaking at the rally, Okpebholo said his government would prioritise infrastructural development.
According to him, the state of the road in Edo was shameful and would form a primary focus of his administration if voted to govern the state.
The market women, who are often seen as the backbone of Edo State’s economy, came out in large numbers to show their love and support for the APC candidate.
The women praised him for his consistent dedication to improving lives through market infrastructure development, empowerment programme, and his open-door policy that has made him accessible to the common people.
