Oasis fans got their hopes up this morning following news the band may reunite for Glastonbury 2025. Now, Liam’s representative has revealed whether there is any truth to the rumour.
The band, made up of feuding brothers Noel, 57, and Liam Gallagher, 51, first formed in 1991 in Manchester and was one of the most internationally successful groups before their split in 2009.
While both Noel and Liam have gone on to have successful solo careers, their bitter rift continues and appears to be the only obstacle to an Oasis reunion.
However, in the past 12 months, there have been many hints that the iconic 90s band could be making a comeback, with the Mail on Sunday reporting that they could even be at Glastonbury 2025.
Speaking to the news outlet, industry insiders have revealed that the annual event is determined to secure some big names for next year’s headliners and has its sights set on Oasis.
One insider said a long-awaited reunion is ‘more doable than it has been for years’, as tensions between the brothers have eased following Noel’s split from his ex-wife, Sara MacDonald, with whom Liam had a tense relationship.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, a representative for Liam denied claims of a reunion but has hinted at something exciting coming soon.
Stating they ‘categorically deny this Glastonbury rumour,’ they continued, ‘We will be officially making an announcement next week.’
It comes mere hours after Liam cryptically posted to X: ‘I never did like that word FORMER.’
While it’s understood the Gallaghers still don’t speak to each other, a source told the Mail on Sunday, ‘All the speculation about this reunion can get a bit tiresome. But there’s a genuine feeling that next summer’s Glastonbury will be too much of an attraction for Liam and Noel to turn down.
‘They have been made aware of the headline slot that’s open for them next summer. Now it’s all down to them.’

A second insider has also come forward claiming the reunion is all but confirmed and that fans can expect an announcement in the coming weeks.
Speaking to The Sun, the source said: ‘Liam and Noel have been staunch enemies for well over a decade but they have secretly been back in touch.
They continued to claim that there has been a deal pitched to the brothers and they ‘both said yes’ surprising their inner circle.
‘There will be concerts in the UK next summer and both Noel and Liam are excited to get back out there together,’ they said.
Noel often attends the five-day festival in Somerset and recently revealed that he thinks it is ‘a bit woke now’, so it may be a bit of a tough sell for organisers but not impossible.

Their debut album, Definitely Maybe, released in 1994, not only topped the UK Albums Chart but also became the fastest-selling debut album in British history.
In the years after, the band, which also included Paul Arthurs on guitar, Paul McGuigan on bass guitar, and Tony McCarroll on drums, continued to release chart-topping music, but it wasn’t long before they began making headlines for other reasons.
The Gallagher brothers were often in the newspapers throughout their early years of fame for their public disagreements. By 2009, things had gotten so bad between them that Noel suddenly left the band.
His sudden departure reportedly came after the brothers had a fight backstage at their last-ever show in Paris.

The Glastonbury rumours aren’t the only hint this year that the band could be making a comeback.
Earlier this month, Liam’s 23-year-old son Gene said he gets ‘the feeling’ that his father is ready for an Oasis revival.
‘I get the feeling my dad wants it, too. Let’s hope it happens. It’s easier to speak about after a couple of pints,’ Gene said.
He also addressed his father and uncle’s feud, explaining that while he would ‘love’ to see his dad reunite with Noel, it’s ‘nothing to do with’ him.
‘I mean, will they? I don’t know,’ he told The Times. ‘I would love it but it’s so beyond my control.’
