From Bamigbola Gbolagunte, Akure

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has expressed its readiness to participate in the February, 2025 local government election in Osun State.

To this end the party has unveiled its councillorship and chairmanship candidates in all the wards and local government areas across the state.

The state chairman of the party, Dr Tosin Odeyemi while unveiling the party’s candidates appealed to the State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) to ensure that it conducts a free, fair and credible election.

Odeyemi said all the candidates of the party are fit fit to contest the forthcoming local government election in the state, saying that all the candidates have been found worthy in characters and they are also politically capable of contesting the election.

He said “our candidates are people of great reputation. We are fielding people that are residents of each local council because they have known their people’s needs and how to solve them.

“We urge the umpire and the entire political class in the state to allow free and fair election for the best candidates to emerge.

“We as a political party have put every necessary machinery in place in our newly refurbished party secretariat to enhance smooth and robust running.

“Effective administrative efforts are in place for preparation towards the forthcoming local government election stipulated for February 2025 and we are already strategizing ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in 2026,” Dr Odeyemi added.
