A teenage girl suffered a freak death after stepping into her family’s camper with bare feet.

Olivia Bright, 17, was going into a camper in her family’s yard in East Toledo, Ohio, barefoot on Sunday night when the yard was wet from rainfall, police said. She appeared to have been electrocuted.

Cops who responded to the home on the 800 block of Oak Street at 9pm found her in cardiac arrest, with burns on her right hand, WTVG reported.

Olivia was pronounced dead at 9.40pm, according to a GoFundMe page for her funeral expenses.

‘She passed away unexpectedly due to electric shock/ heart failure,’ wrote Kelly Perry on the page.

‘This is extremely hard for our family because we have lost her brother at age 11 in 2019 due to brain cancer.’

Olivia’s brother, Brandon James Bright, died aged 11 in February 2019 ‘after a hard fought battle with brain cancer in his home surrounded by family’, his obituary states.

Their mother, Kimberly Bright, told WTVG she was not sure if Olivia died from electrocution and that ‘Toledo Edison cleared by power, thy cleared my electrical’.

Toledo Edison and fire department officials told investigators that the camper was unplugged and that there were no burn marks on its door, WTOL reported.

‘All I want to know is how my daughter passed,’ Kimberly said. ‘That’s the answers I want.’

The grieving mom added: ‘It’s hard. Five-and-a-half years ago, I buried my son Brandon. He was the age of 11, he died from glioblastoma.

‘Now I have to go and make arrangements for my daughter Olivia.’

Olivia’s family is holding a candlelight vigil for her on Wednesday night in Toledo at 9.40pm, marking the time she died.

The GoFundMe page had raised more than $2,300 as of Wednesday afternoon.

Olivia died about seven months after an Oregon mother who was six months pregnant was fatally electrocuted alongside her boyfriend after a power line fell on their SUV.
