Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is now happy to keep Casemiro following the Brazilian’s impressive pre-season at the club.

The midfielder’s time at the club looked to be over after he was dropped for the FA Cup final victory against Manchester City in May.

Sofyan Amrabat got the nod ahead of Casemiro, which saw the Brazilian then drop out of the matchday squad all together.

United had anticipated interest from Saudi Arabia this summer for Casemiro but they haven’t received any bids for the former Real Madrid man.

The club are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte, who would likely take Casemiro’s spot in the starting XI.

Given the Brazilian’s £340,000-a-week wages, it was anticipated that United would do all they could to move the 32-year-old on.

But the Sun say Ten Hag is now willing to keep Casemiro following his impressive start to the campaign.

Casemiro had a full pre-season with the club following his omission from Brazil’s squad for the Copa America.

He was a standout performer in United’s penalty shootout defeat to Manchester City in the Community Shield.

Casemiro then impressed as United started their season with a 1-0 win against Fulham at Old Trafford last Friday.

United still hope to sign Ugarte, with the club working on a season-long loan deal with an obligation to buy.

PSG are seeking £51 for the Uruguay international, who joined the club from Sporting Lisbon in 2023.
