Music star Rachel Chinouriri has cancelled her tour because of the ‘financial strain’ it was causing.
The 25-year-old British star has over 1.5million monthly listeners on Spotify and performed at Glastonbury Festival earlier this year.
Known for songs such as Never Needed Me, All I Ever Asked, and So My Darling, the alternative indie-pop artist released her long-awaited debut album, What A Turn Of Events, in May.
She was due to hit the road with Remi Wolf as a support act and also play several festival slots, from which she has now withdrawn.
Taking to X with a statement, Rachel began: ‘I’m deeply saddened to announce that I have to withdraw from the Remi Wolf tour and several festivals.
‘This year I’ve invested all my savings and earnings into my shows, styling, and band to be able to tour.
‘While my debut album has opened many amazing opportunities, the financial strain on touring has become too much.’
She continued: ‘Despite my best efforts to secure funding for this incredible opportunity, it hasn’t been possible.
‘This is the tough reality of the music industry, whether you’re signed or independent.’
She concluded: ‘I’ve explored every possible option to make this work because I adore Remi and her fanbase, and I was so excited to come to the States.
‘However, I cannot justify the financial risk it would entail.’
She signed off by thanking her fans for ‘understanding’ as the support ‘means everything to[ her].

‘I will continue to work hard,’ she promised, assuring everyone that her UK November tour will go ahead as planned.
Following her emotional announcement, Rachel was inundated with messages from her followers, with many calling out how dire the music scene is if ‘an artist signed to a major label and has millions of streams on Spotify can’t afford to tour’.
BoyWithTheToast wrote: ‘Rachel is one of the biggest up and coming artists in the UK and it is insane that even at her level the gigging industry is not financially viable’.
‘Yall better start streaming and buying Rachel’s album. I promise it’s one of the best albums of the year, I’m completely addicted to her artistry she deserves to be able to go on tour and so much more’, wrote disfalsegod.

After pulling out of Remi’s shows, Rachel will be replaced by Slimdan, which Remi herself confirmed when she announced Rachel’s departure due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’.
Commenting on Remi’s Instagram post, Rachel added that she felt ‘heartbroken but I know this tour is gonna be a dream’.
She had been due to open for the star for 10 of her concerts stating next month, beginning in New York City and finishing in October in California.
Alas, indeed, travelling to perform for fans across the pond has become much more expensive for international artists.
New rules were introduced in April which saw the cost of a visa to perform in America more than doubled, having previously costed $460 (£353) but now sometimes exceeding $1,000 (£767.40).

Bills can also soar due to legal costs and processing fees.
Rachel isn’t the first artist to make the admission about touring being expensive.
When the changes were made, Georgia Davies, who plays bass for The Last Dinner Party, said the group ‘never makes money’ as it’s ‘not a possiblity’.
She added that it was becoming ‘increasingly impossible’ for artists to tour.
