Following the redeployment of Mrs. Florence Wenegieme, the acting director of the FCT Emergency Management Department, (FEMD), Engr. Abdulrahman Mohammed has officially assumed office as Director of the agency.
In a remark at the handover ceremony, Mohammed urged the staff to be diligent and transparent in carrying out their duties.
The director, who called for the cooperation of the staff to keep the FEMD flag flying, stated that cooperation would take the organisation to greater heights.
He commended Wenegieme for her contributions to the development of FEMD, appealing to her not to forget to tell them when they are going wrong or when they are doing the right thing.
Earlier, Wenegieme who commended FEMD staff for their support, attributed her successes to their relentless support while in an acting capacity.
She also appealed to the staff to extend the same cooperation to her successor.
Most of the management staff, who spoke at the event described Wenegieme as a dedicated professional, committed to the development of FEMD.
Until his new appointment as the Director of FEMD, Engineer Mohammed was the Director of Relief and Rehabilitation of FEMD.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State and a Master’s degree in Asset Development and Control from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State.
Mohammed is a registered member of various professional bodies including NschE, NSE, NSCE and COREN.
