A body has been found in the search for a man who went missing after he fell off a boat into a lake.

The man, aged in his 20s, vanished after he entered the water at Wroxham Broad in Norfolk late on Friday evening.

Extensive searches were launched by emergency services after he’d gone into the lake at around 11.30pm.

Police, firefighters and the coastguard scoured the area and recovered the man’s body from the water at 2.15pm today.

Earlier today, the Broads Authority had said that Wroxham Broad was ‘closed to all craft’ due to an ‘ongoing police incident’.

Pictures from the scene showed a large police cordon in place with a number of patrol cars parked up at the water’s edge.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said: ‘The family of the man who entered the water on Friday has been informed.

‘His death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.’

Elsewhere this week, a two-year-old boy died after falling into a canal ‘while feeding the ducks’.
