Woman’s body ‘found inside old ambulance near children’s play area’

A body has been found near a children’s play area in Blackpool, Lancashire, after a young woman ‘suddenly’ died.

The woman in her 20s was found dead inside a vehicle on Gorton Street, a residential road near Blackpool North railway station, this morning.

Emergency services were at the scene at 9.30am.

The woman’s death, first reported by the Blackpool Lead, was sudden.

The Blackpool Gazette reported that the woman’s body was found in an ‘old decommissioned ambulance.

Two men in their 60s have been arrested. The woman’s death is being treated as unexpected, not suspicious.

Police said in a statement to Metro.co.uk: ‘Emergency services were called to Gorton Street, Blackpool at about 9.30am today following reports of a sudden death.

‘Officers attended and sadly found the body of a woman in her 20s. The death is being treated as unexpected and is under investigation but is not deemed to be suspicious at this time.

‘Two men both in their 60s have been arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug. Enquiries are continuing.’
