The UK weather can’t make its mind up at the moment, meaning it has got plenty of surprises in store.
The summer holiday weather is seeing a shift this week, according to the latest Met Office forecast, although temperatures will remain largely summery in the south and London – with even the risk of more tropical nights.
The spell of warm weather that continues in London is good news for Taylor Swift fans heading to Wembley Stadium for a string of five more concerts today and over the coming days.
It comes after the hottest day of the year so far as Cambridgeshire reached a whopping 34.8°C on Monday.
While the plume of warm weather continues in the south, the north and Scotland appear to be tiptoeing their way into autumn already.

A wet weather front is making its way from the Atlantic across Scotland and northwest England.
The rain is set to be heavy in parts of Cumbria with a risk of localised flooding, the Met Office forecast said.
While temperatures in London, South East, East of England and East Yorkshire are in the mid to high 20s throughout the day, a new southwesterly breeze will blow.
Swifties heading to Wembley Stadium should not be disappointed by the famously unpredictable British summer weather.
Despite a windier day, temperatures will stay well above 20C during the day.

Some cloud could form from about 4pm, with a chance of light rain at midnight after the Eras concert has wrapped up.

The rest of the week and weekend looks largely dry and sunny in London as the megastar entertains the crowds at Wembley on August 15, 16, 17, 19 and 20.
Liam Eslick, a meteorologist at the Met Office, said a second ‘plume of rain’ will move in towards the north west of Scotland on Thursday, which can ‘bring some pretty strong winds and pretty heavy rain.’
‘The South East will probably be the driest part of the country but those temperatures will slowly start to come down towards what we would expect for mid-August, around 22°C or 23°C.’
He said there was good news for those with weekend plans, as sunny weather is likely to return.
‘It will be a mostly dry picture for many people as we go in towards the weekend, most places will see a pretty dry picture and will start to see some sunnier spells,’ he said.
