Nigerian singer Darkoo has opened up on her relationship with colleague, Ayra Starr.
During her latest guest appearance on the Uncut Podcast, Darkoo noted that Ayra Starr is like a sister and not an industry friend.
“I have some friends in the industry, I don’t think I am looking for friends in the industry just friends in general. I feel like I was able to find that in Ayra Starr, I don’t see her as an industry friend but I see her as my sister.
“Why we merge so well is because we are very alike but what I really love about her is that she is so respectful. You can just tell that she is a proper Naija girl. By the way she sees life. She also teaches each other a lot of stuff and I love that type of relationship.
“In terms of going out with people, I won’t say that they are my friends. I’m a very friendly person, so it’s easy to make that type of friendship but it doesn’t go further than just seeing each other and DMing each other. I feel like distance friendship is fine because of see finish is a real thing. People start to disrespect you when they get too close and too comfortable with you.”
