Flood renders over 2000 households homeless in Zamfara

No fewer than 2000 households have been rendered homeless by flood in many communities of Talata Mafafa local government area of Zamfara State.

DAILY POST reports that many properties, including livestock worth millions of Naira, were also destroyed.

The affected communities are Ruwan Gora, Morai, Makera, Talata Mafara town, among others.

Officials of the Zamfara State Emergency Management Agency, ZEMA, confirmed the incident, pointing out that they have visited the affected communities.

According to the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Ahmed Bala Gusau, the incident was very unfortunate.

He stated this during an assessment visit to the affected communities.

The ZEMA, boss who spoke through the Director, Disaster Management and Control of the Board, Mr. Hassan Usman Dauran, assured the victims of the commitment of the state government to do the needful.

On the entourage was also the Sole Administrator, Talata Mafara local government, Usman Jafar, who sympathied with the affected victims and urged them not to obstruct waterways.
