Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 57-year-old man fell from a tower block in Salford.

Police say the man was pronounced dead after falling from a fourth-floor balcony at Black Friar Court.

Officers were called to the scene at around 8:40pm on Sunday, and were unable to save the victim, who died shortly afterwards in hospital.

A crime scene remains in place while police conduct enquiries to understand how the man sadly lost his life.

Detective Inspector David Ogden from our Salford  said: ‘We know the community will be concerned about this tragic death, and we share their concern.

‘We’re appealing to anyone who has not yet spoken to us. Please don’t assume that what you know is already known to us. The smallest piece of information may be crucial to our investigation and towards getting answers for this man’s family.’
