They are also accused of criminally diverting N57.4 billion through personal accounts of Local Government’s Cashiers and other personal and corporate accounts. Additionally, the state government alleges that they transferred the funds into dollars for their personal benefits.

The charge sheet further alleges that the defendants acquired several properties, including a service apartment in Dubai, a commercial apartment in Dubai, a multi-billion naira hotel in Abuja, filling stations in Kano, and other properties.

The state government has listed 143 witnesses to testify in the case, but no date has been fixed for the matter.

This is not the first time Ganduje has been accused of fraud. On April 4, the Kano government filed a suit against him, his wife, and six others, including his son, over alleged fraud.

On July 16, Ganduje and former commissioner for justice Musa Lawan were charged with criminal conspiracy and misappropriation.

The Kano government has accused Ganduje and Lawan of abuse of office. The case is ongoing.
