In a surprising announcement, PinkPantheress has cancelled all her remaining tour dates for 2024 due to ill health.

The British music industry has been hit with a spate of cancellations from Weezer’s vinyl release to Garbage’s Shirley Hanson needing surgery.

The 23-year-old singer revealed she was struggling with her ‘overall well-being’ so had to scrap plans for her Capable of Love tour.

She has had a meteoric rise over the past four years, growing from sampling 90s and 00s tracks on TikTok to releasing her debut album last year.

‘It is with the heaviest heart that I sadly have to announce that I will not be able to continue with the rest of my live shows this year,’ the Boy’s A Liar star wrote on Instagram.

PinkPantheress, real name Victoria Beverley Walker, was due to join Olivia Rodrigo on her Guts World Tour this month as an opening act.

After that she was scheduled to open for Coldplay on their Australian leg of the Music of the Spheres world tour, as well as several festival slots.

She said this was ‘in order to focus on [her] physical health and overall wellbeing.’

For much of the year, PinkPantheress has been on tour as she weaved from Dublin and across Europe all the way to dates in the US, including New York City and Los Angeles.

‘It appears I have reached a wall which I am struggling to penetrate through,’ she added.

‘I would like to thank all of you, as well as my touring team and Olivia for giving me the platform to perform some super fun shows. I’m sad to disappoint anyone and can only hope we will be in each other’s company once I return to health.’

PinkPantheress was due to take her own tour to Australia and New Zealand, with eight nights opening for Coldplay.

In 2022 she cancelled her set at Spain’s Primavera Festival after struggling with partial hearing loss.

The rising star later confirmed she had lost around 80% of her hearing in her right ear due to continuous damage from sound equipment.

Speaking to Louis Theroux on his podcast, the young singer confirmed: ‘Voices now sound mostly like bass … due to the damage.’

It started as tinnitus which increasingly got worse and although things are harder now, her hearing has not stopped her from producing music.

‘To state the obvious, making music has gotten harder … But I honestly did all my mourning already,’ she told the BBC previously.

‘I told myself that, whatever happens, you still have another good working ear. As long as you protect that, you’re going to be fine.

‘So I just try not to think about it.’
