Worrying images have emerged of Manchester United defender Leny Yoro on crutches after the new signing suffered an injury in his second appearance for the club.
Yoro joined United from Lille in a £52million deal earlier this month, featuring in the pre-season victory over Rangers before joining the squad for the tour of the United States.
The 18-year-old centre-half started against Arsenal in California on Sunday but was forced after just 35 minutes – with Rasmus Hojlund also picking up a knock later on in the contest.
‘Of course it is too short [to know about their injuries] and we have to wait over 24 hours, then we will hopefully know more,’ Erik ten Hag said following the match.
‘We were careful especially with Leny [Yoro] as he only did 50 per cent of the [training] sessions. He has to come up but let’s be positive and see what comes out.’
United have not released any further updates on Yoro but supporters will be now left fearing the worst after new footage of him the defender wearing a protective boot and walking on crutches.
The United squad were arriving at UCLA [University of California, Los Angeles] which is serving as the club’s primary training ground for their tour.
Ten Hag’s side are back in pre-season action in the early hours of Thursday morning when they take on Real Betis in San Diego.
