Jigawa PDP Ward Congress Leaders Emerge Through Consensus

The  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward congress was conducted peacefully across the 287 political wards in Jigawa State yesterday.

In most of the wards visited by LEADERSHIP Sunday, they were elected on consensus.

Speaking to journalists, the state party chairman, Hon. Ali Diginsa, said the consensus process adopted by the stakeholders was in line with the criteria and guidelines laid down by the party constitution.

“Consensus, voting and affirmation are  the three major processes for electing our party leaders and anyone agreed by the stakeholders is accepted. As you went round and saw, the congress was conducted peacefully and so far there is no single compliant about the conduct.

“In Jigawa all PDP members belong to one family, that is PDP and we are united and strong, and we hope the outcome of this congress to be the beginning of our journey towards reclaiming the state and Nigeria from the hands of self-centered and amateur politicians,” Hon. Diginsa stated.
