Enzo Maresca claims Chelsea are planning to keep Marc Guiu in the first-team squad this season.
The 18-year-old forward jointed Chelsea in a £5 million deal from Barcelona at the start of the month.
Guiu made his first-team breakthrough at Barcelona last season, scoring two goals in seven games.
But strong competition for a place in Barca’s attack saw him being more of a regular for Barcelona B where he scored six goals in 17 appearances.
Guiu is with Chelsea’s squad for their pre-season tour of the United States and has featured in both the 2-2 draw with Wrexham, as well as the 4-1 defeat to Celtic on Saturday.

Many had anticipatedChelsea to send Guiu out on loan but Maresca insists a decision over the Spaniard is yet to be made.
‘The idea with Marc, with all the young players, is to have a look now during the pre-season and then to make a decision altogether,’ Maresca said.
‘I think Marc is doing well and he’s one of the guys in this moment is going to stay with us and not going to go somewhere.’
Maresca also refused to confirm that Chelsea are on the brink of signing Boca Juniors centre-back Aaron Anselmino and Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen but said both players are ‘very good’.
‘No, the only thing I can say is they are still Boca Juniors player and Villarreal players,’ Maresca said.
‘The moment they arrive, we will make some comment but at this moment, they are still not our player, so we will see.
‘I know both of them. And both of them are very good.’
