Como have confirmed the signing of Liverpool legend Pepe Reina, with more big names set to join the newly-promoted Serie A side.
Former Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is head coach at Como and is building a squad with some very recognisable faces in it for the club’s return to Serie A.
41-year-old Reina has signed up for the project on a free transfer after leaving Spanish side Villarreal, where he spent the last two seaons.
The well-travelled Spain international has played in Serie A before, for Napoli, AC Milan and Lazio, while he has also turned out for Barcelona, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Aston Villa over an amazing career.
‘I arrive in a beautiful project, a family that continues to grow and tries to raise the bar every year,’ said Reina.
‘I return to a league that I know well and that I know is very competitive, for my part I want to give my contribution to the development of this club.’
Fabregas added: ‘We are thrilled to welcome Pepe to the club. He is a goalkeeper with great international experience and a very competitive mentality.
‘For these reasons, I am sure that his contribution will help the team to grow and improve.’

Como have already signed Italy international Andrea Belotti from Roma this summer and are set to bring in more star names.
Raphael Varane has reportedly agreed to join the Serie A side after he left Manchester United at the end of his contract this summer.
Still just 31 years old, the France international is a huge coup for Como as they look to make an impression on the Italian top flight, with the deal due to be confirmed in the coming days.

Alberto Moreno, formerly of Liverpool, is also expected to make the move to Como as a free agent after his contract with Villarreal expired at the end of last season.
