Champions League winner Didi Hamann has warned England star Jude Bellingham that he needs to change his behaviour to avoid going down the wrong path in the aftermath of Euro 2024.
Bellingham arrived in Germany off the back of a superb maiden season for Real Madrid which saw him win the La Liga Player of the Year award after helping his side win the league and Champions League.
At the Euros, the 21-year-old started all seven games but was unable to prevent England falling just short in the final against Spain in Berlin.
The Englishman produced two big moments, notching up England’s first goal of the tournament against Serbia and scoring a dramatic overhead kick equaliser in their round-of-16 tie against Slovakia, but otherwise failed to influence games with enough regularity.
The Real midfielder also appeared unhappy having been shunted out to the left wing to accommodate for Phil Foden in the knockout stages, while other reports said Bellingham ‘lost it’ with Southgate as England searched for an equaliser in the final.
And Hamann has issued was he believes is a timely reminder to the midfielder, suggesting Bellingham ‘has got to be careful’ with his attitude.
‘Jude Bellingham, at the moment, is going down the wrong route,’ the German told TopOffshoreSportsBooks.

‘If you look at some of the comments he has made, including about the referee in Germany when he got away with a fine when he should’ve been banned.
‘There’s a lot of things he said or he’s done which I don’t like. I didn’t like his behaviour at all. He barged into Filip Kostic in the first game after a tackle and he should’ve been booked for it.
‘Then he scores the last-minute goal against Slovakia and he stands there saying: ‘Who else?’
‘Now I’d like to know what all his teammates think because there’s 10 players next to him who are top class players in their own right.

‘Now he’s obviously got it in his head that he’s the best and he’s the greatest in that team. You’ve got to be careful because there’s always someone bigger than you.
‘If you behave like that, you tempt fate when at the moment, I think the jury’s out.’
In the aftermath of England’s defeat, Bellingham reflected on his side’s near-miss and paid tribute to outgoing boss Gareth Southgate who announced his departure on Tuesday.
‘I’d like to thank Gareth and his staff for the great memories during his tenure,’ he posted on Instagram.
‘From the point of view of a fan who has become a member of the squad, it’s been a rollercoaster of amazing emotions that has instilled hope and joy back into our country.
‘It was a privilege being lead by someone who is so dedicated and passionate, not only is Gareth easily one of the best coaches in the history of the national team but also an unbelievable human being.
‘Thank you for everything and all the best in the next chapter, Gaffer.’
