Manchester City striker, Julián Álvarez, has emerged as Atlético Madrid’s first choice to replace Álvaro Morata.
According to ESPN, Morata is on the verge of joining AC Milan this summer.
Álvarez has scored 36 goals in 103 games for City since he arrived in the summer of 2022 from River Plate.
But the World Cup winner has failed to break into Pep Guardiola’s starting XI because of Erling Haaland’s presence.
Álvarez was recently asked about his future and although he insisted he is happy at City, he said: “We shall see.”
Álvarez wants more playing time and Atlético are happy to make him one of the pillars of coach Diego Simeone’s new project.
