The newly appointed Director General of National Productivity Centre (NPC), Dr Baffa Babba Danagundi, has met with the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Barrister Nkiruka Onyejeocha, in her office for a familiarisation visit.
The duo also agreed to meet again after Danagundi’s official assumption of office.
It would be recalled that President Bola Tinubu had last week appointed Danagundi as the new Director General of the Centre.
A former Majority Leader of the Kano State House of Assembly, Danagundi was also the Director General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council’s Directorate of Support Groups for the North-West during 2023 General Election.
Our correspondent reports that there was jubilation among APC faithful in Kano and other North-western States when his appointment was announced by the President.
The Minister thanked Danagundi for the visit and assured him of her total support towards achieving the Renewed Hope agenda of President Tinubu administration.
Meanwhile, reacting to Danagundi’s appointment as DG of NPC, the Kano State chairman of APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, thanked the President and assured him that the new appointee is a result-oriented person.
“Danagundi worked vigorously for the victory of the President at the poll, he is a very hardworking, committed and loyal party member.
This is an appointment well deserved. Appointing the right person and a loyal party member is a thing of joy.
“He will make us and the President proud in this assignment.
“On behalf of all members of the party in Kano, we say a big thank you,” said Abbas.
