Colombia 2024: NFF charges Falconets to work hard for success

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau has charged the Falconets to remain focused and disciplined as they continue their preparations for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The Falconets are currently preparing for the competition at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project in Abuja.

Chris Danjuma’s side have been drawn to play three-time winners Germany, Venezuela and Korea Republic in Group D.

The Falconets were quarter-finalists at the last edition of the competition two years ago.

Gusau believes that with more hard work, the team can mount the winners’ podium this time around.

“I am aware of our country’s pedigree in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup. Your predecessors have won the silver medal on two occasions and reached the semi finals once. Now is the time for the ultimate,” Gusau said during a visit to the team’s training on Monday.

“I believe that with discipline, hard work, dedication, focus and prayers for mother luck in your matches, you can emerge triumphant. These are the qualities that are necessary for success. The NFF will continue to provide the support and encouragement that you need to excel.”

Colombia will host the competition from August 31 to September 22, 2024.
