England midfielder, Declan Rice, has claimed that his team-mates want manager Gareth Southgate to continue in the role after Euro 2024.
Southgate has already said he would make a decision on his future after the competition.
But the players are urging him to extend his contract no matter what happens in Sunday’s final against Spain.
“The lads would love him to stay on until 2026, there is no doubt about that,” Rice said.
“The way he looks after us, how calm he is, how he is as a man-manager, how he is on the training pitch with us, he’s top. Hopefully we can do something special for him in the final.”
Southgate has a deal with the Football Association until December 2024.
