Yamine Yamal has broken a European Championship record after scoring a thrilling goal to help Spain beat France in the semifinal of the Euros.
The Barcelona star, who is already the youngest man to play at the European Championship, is now the youngest to score in the history of the competition.
The previous youngest player at the Euros was Poland’s Kacper Kozlowski – 17 years and 246 days – in a 1-1 group-stage draw against Spain in June 2021.
16-year-old Yamal, who will be 17 on Saturday, curled in a sublime equaliser against France in the clash as Spain completed a comeback to win 2-1.

After Randal Kolo Muani headed in Kylian Mbappe’s cross to give France an early lead, Yamal curled home from outside the box to equalise.
Within four minutes, Spain scored another goal through Dani Olmo, whose shot was turned in by France defender Jules Kounde.
Olivier Jiroud was in action as a substitute and played alongside Mbappe, who himself had some chances missed.
Spain will now go on to face either England or the Netherlands in Sunday’s final.
