The Kaduna State Police Command on Monday said it recovered a vehicle suspected to have been snatched at gunpoint in Abuja.
Police Public Relations Officer for the Command ASP Hassan Mansir told reporters that the recovery followed a tip-off about a robbery incident on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
“On the 6th of July, at about 0200 hours, the police received a tip-off from a reliable source about a car snatching incident.
“A 2013 Honda Accord was forcibly taken from its owner at his residence in Abuja by unknown armed men.
“Acting promptly on this information, police operatives from the Katari Division of the Kaduna State Police Command, swiftly mobilised and intercepted the stolen vehicle on the same July 6, 2024, at about 03:47 am, at Gidan Dan Busa Village, along the Kaduna-Abuja Express Way.
“On sighting the approaching police officers, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled in another car.
“The recovered vehicle has been secured and taken to the station for safekeeping”, he said.
He added that the Commissioner of Police in the State, Audu Ali Dabigi, commended his men on the recovery, urging them to improve on prompt response to incidents just as he encouraged the public to continue providing valuable information to help the police in the fight against crime.
