Kebbi State Governor Dr Nasir Idris has urged Islamic Clerics and other religious leaders in the state to continue praying for the unity, peace, and strength of the nation’s leadership to provide more dividends to the citizens.
Idris made this call during a special prayer session held in Birnin Kebbi, which was also held simultaneously across the four Emirates in the state.
The Governor, who was represented by the Secretary of the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, expressed satisfaction over the unity among the Clerics in the state and their commitment to peaceful coexistence.
“Today, we gathered here to pray to Almighty God who has been protecting us till today and spares our lives to witness this new Muharam 1446,” Idris said. “This administration is committed to uplifting the welfare and condition of our people in Kebbi State and Muslims inclusive.”

He added, “For this strong reason, this Government is determined to build more Mosques and rehabilitate the existing ones. As you all are aware, this is part of many dividends introduced by this government, and we pray that God will strengthen our Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, to continue to steer the affairs of this administration.”
The Governor commended the Clerics for converging and uniting for the prayer session and urged them to continue offering prayers for the unity, peace, and prosperity of Kebbi and Nigeria in general.
Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Politics and Power, Alhaji Kabiru Sanni Giant, commended the Islamic Clerics for their unity in the interest of the state and the nation. He assured them that the present administration would continue to care for the welfare of the citizens and urged them to continue praying to God for a peaceful Nigeria.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters said the Governor purposely created three boards: Zakat Board, Preaching Board, and Hisbah to ensure quick dispensation of justice to the people irrespective of their location.
Islamic Clerics, Sheikh Umar Malisa, Professor Muhammed Wali Argungu, and Alkali Abubakar Ambursa, and their followers offered a series of prayers for unity, peace, and sustained security in the state and Nigeria at large.
