Atiku, PDP salute Okowa at 65

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have saluted the former Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa on his 65th birthday.

This is contained in separate statements released on Monday.

Born July 8, 1959, in Owa-Alero, Ika Northeast LGA of present-day Delta State, Okowa was running mate to Atiku in the 2023 presidential election.

He was previously Delta governor from May 29, 2015, to May 29, 2023.

Atiku said, “Wishing a very happy 65th birthday to an outstanding patriot and visionary leader, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. Your legacy as the former Governor of Delta State speaks volumes about your dedication and commitment to the people. May you enjoy many years of good health, and success.”

In its statement, the PDP commended Okowa’s dedication to public service and commitment to the welfare of Nigerians, describing it as truly inspiring.

“Your leadership and vision for a better Nigeria are qualities that we admire and appreciate.

“As our Vice Presidential Candidate in the last election, you brought hope and enthusiasm to our party and the nation.

“We celebrate you today and wish you a wonderful year ahead. May this new year bring you joy, good health, and continued success in all your endeavours in the service of our Party and Nigeria,” the statement reads in part.
