Debbie Duncan and her family flew out to the Canary Islands after the 19-year-old disappeared on June 17
Jay Slater’s ‘best mate’ has hit back against unsupported claims that he and the missing teen were ‘drug mules’.
Jay, 19, has been missing in the Canary island of Tenerife since June 17 after attending a music festival with friends.
Among them was Brad Hargreaves who, in the days since Spanish police ended their official search for the apprentice bricklayer, has been targeted by trolls.
Amid endless comments, Brad has denied either teens were ‘drug mules’.
‘People need to know the facts before talking s*** on the internet,’ he said.
Police spent weeks combing the Masca ravine before calling off the search six days ago. The missing person cae remains open.
But for Jay’s family, the days since have been increasingly plagued by accusations, rumours and conspiracy theories.
Mum Debbie Duncan said she joined the ‘Jay Slater Missing’ Facebook group ‘to share the positivity and love from the British public’.
‘It seems through no fault of my own,’ she said yesterday, ‘you have all decided to make up your own minds.’
