A woman has been arrested after a man in his 40s was stabbed to death in a village.
Emergency services descended on a street in Strawberry Fields, Easterton, Wiltshire, at around 8pm on Tuesday.
A man in his 40s sustained stab wounds and died at the scene.
A woman in her 50s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to Melksham custody for questioning.
Both the victim and the suspect are believed to be known to each other.
In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: ‘A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following an incident at an address in Easterton, near Devizes.’
‘Officers were called to the address shortly after 8pm on Tuesday evening (2/7) following a report that a man had sustained stab wounds.’
‘The man, who is aged in his 40s, died at the scene.’

‘A woman in her 50s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to Melksham custody for questioning.’
‘Both individuals are believed to be known to each other and we would like to reassure residents that we do not believe there to be a wider risk to the public.’
‘There will be a police presence in the area overnight while our investigation continues.’
‘Anyone with information should call 101 and quote log number 291 of July 2.’
