Former Chelsea defender, Glen Johnson, has urged the Blues not to sign 21-year-old forward Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao this summer.
Williams has been linked with a move away from Athletic Bilbao this summer.
However, Johnson believes the Spain international has no Premier League experience.
According to him, Chelsea need an experienced attacker who has played in the Premier League to bolster their attack next season.
“From what I have seen, he [Williams] is probably better than a few they have already got. As I have said before, Chelsea have so many youngsters and I believe they need more experience in the team,” Johnson told BetFred.
“They need match winners and experienced players rather than an entire squad of young gems.”
He added, “I don’t believe they need another young winger right now. Chelsea need players that have been around the Premier League for many years, that have won trophies, and know how to win.”
