Police arrest 2 suspects over kidnap of Rarara’s mother

The Katsina State Police Command said it has arrested two suspects over the kidnap of Hauwa’u Adamu, the 75-year-old mother of famous Hausa singer, Dauda Kahutu popularly called Rarara.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Katsina, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu confirmed the suspects’ arrest in a Friday statement.

The police spokesman disclosed that the victim was kidnapped at her residence in Kahutu, Danja Local Government Area of the state in the early hours of Friday.

“Today, June 28, at about 1:30 a.m., an information was received at the Danja Divisional Police Headquarters, that some suspected kidnappers silently invaded the residence of one Hauwa’u Adamu, aged 75, in Kahutu village, Danja Local Government and kidnapped her.

“Upon receipt of the report, promptly, the DPO Danja led a team of operatives to the scene with a view to arresting the culprits and unhurt rescue of the victim,” Aliyu said.

Disclosing that the kidnappers were able to whisk their victim away, the police spokesman noted that two suspects were arrested for questioning during investigation into the incident.

He added that investigation was progressing on the incident and further information would be communicated in due course.
